Magpie Club Coterie
Within The Collingwood Football Club there are various Official Coteries working behind the scenes to assist and support and we are very proud to be one of them. We were formed in 1979. We are a group of likeminded individuals who have the best interest of the mighty Pies at heart and we consider ourselves to be proud and passionate supporters of our footy team.
Our official Player Sponsorship this year encompasses Josh Fraser, Travis Cloke and Luke Ball.
We are proud to have counted amongst our affiliated members in the past Len Thompson, Doug Barwick and Eddie Hillgrove and currently Des Tuddenham.
Magpie Club Coterie Members must be a Collingwood Social Club Member. We offer various Packages which can be structured to cater to the individual Member or Business. These include major sponsors, minor sponsors, full members and restricted associate members, some conditions including dress code apply.
We also have the facility to cater for Corporate entities on game days at a negotiated rate per table.
Members are encouraged to bring their wives, families, friends and business associates as guests and enjoy the game with fellow supporters in a dining room atmosphere.
Some of our sponsors include Harvey Norman, Wesfarmers Insurance, Melbourne City Toyota, Alval Business Services, Metro Tilt & Tray and PG Floors.
Our venues are located at the Jack Ryder Room East on the second level of the MCG
and the Endeavour Room at Etihad Stadium. At each home game a couple of young Players attend our luncheon and give us a brief insight into their progress at Collingwood. Match days are very busy with Member draws, Ladies Mystery Gift, raffles and much more.
Our resident MC, Brodie Young, keeps it lively and interesting.
The basic Member package (including one guest) offers-
- ground entry passes, swing tags
- 3 course meal, including beer, wine and soft drinks
- afternoon tea at half time
- football record
- official area car parking on request at cost
- the option to bring along extra guests at cost is also available.
In recent times we have extended the offer to members to bring along their children to normal game days but this cost is not included in the standard package.
A couple of highlights during the year are our annual Seafood Dinner and our Childrens’ Day. We are renowned for the Seafood Night, which is the main fundraiser for our Coterie and usually held in May or June of each year, this is one not to be missed and in fact is mandatory for our members. Present and past players are always in attendance on this night The Childrens’ Day is a very popular game with players attending, other activities include a handball competition, face painting, clowns, mascots, gifts for the children and showbags with lots of Collingwood goodies to take home.
The option to attend other Coterie functions is available to our Members and we can also organize bookings for major Collingwood events, such as The Season Launch, Copeland Trophy, and the Grand Auction Ball. For away games we have the facility to book and allocate tables in the Harrison Room at the MCG for members if desired.
