COLLINGWOOD’S Tyson
Goldsack has won the round 22 nomination for the 2007 AFL Army Award – and his
is one of six “one-percenter” efforts shortlised by the All-Australian
selection panel from the 22 weekly nominees.
Goldsack’s brilliant
chase and diving tackle against Adelaide
won him the nomination.
Essendon’s Alwyn Davey
has three nominations in the final six. He and Goldsack are joined by West
Coast’s Daniel Kerr and Carlton’s
Brendan Fevola.
Fans are invited to
vote for the 2007 AFL Army Award winner through afl.com.au. Voting closes on Monday September 10.
Kerr was nominated for
his game-saving tackle against the Sydney Swans in round one. The first of
Davey’s nominations was in round four, for his chase and tackle on St Kilda’s
James Gwilt. That was followed two rounds later with a nomination for his
brilliant diving smother and second and third efforts against Hawthorn, while
in round eight his chase and smother on the Brisbane Lions’ Cheynee Stiller was
acknowledged.
Fevola’s chase and
tackle, recovery and goal from 60m in round 17 against St Kilda won his
nomination.
The All-Australian
selection panel will endorse the winner after the public’s votes, and the
announcement of the winner will be made at the 2007 Coca-Cola All-Australian
presentation dinner on Monday, September 17.
The winner receives a
$10,000 Army Experience.
