Caracella joined the Collingwood coaching staff as offensive assistant coach in 2007 after a distinguished AFL career which spanned 187 games and two premierships (2000, 2003) across 10 season for three clubs.
He will now take on the opposition coaching duties for the 2009 season.

Mark Neeld

Neeld, who played 74 league games in seven season for Geelong and Richmond, came to Collingwood in 2008 as defensive assistant coach after a decorated coaching career at suburban and elite junior level, most recently at the helm of the Western Jets in Victoria's TAC Cup Under 18 competition. Coached Ocean Grove to four straight premierships from 2000-2003.
In 2009, Neeld will continue to work with defensive group after a successful '08 season developing a young backline including Rising Star nominee, Nathan Brown.
AFL playing career: Geelong 1990-93, Richmond 1994-96; 74 games, 33 goals.

Brad Scott

Notched 168 games over a fine nine-season career, and was a member of two Brisbane premierships (2001 and 2002), before joining the Magpies in 2007 shortly after retiring. After one season as development coach, Scott moved into an assistant coaching role with his main responsibility analysing the opposition.
For the 2009 season, his role has developed further and will focus his coaching duties on the midfield.

Paul Hudson

HudsonPaul Hudson, who will be in charge of the offensive/forward group, comes to Collingwood having spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach under Leigh Matthews at the Brisbane Lions.
Prior to that Hudson spent two seasons (2005, ‘06) as head coach of the Gippsland Power in Victoria’s TAC Cup under 18 competition, where he coached young Magpies Scott Pendlebury, Dale Thomas, Tyson Goldsack and Brent Macaffer.

Gavin Brown

The former Collingwood captain and 1990 premiership player assisted senior coach Mick Malthouse for six seasons before taking up the role as coach of the club’s newly established stand-alone VFL side for the 2008 season. Brown won three Magpie best and fairests in 254 games, captained the club for five seasons and was named on the interchange bench in the Magpies’ Team of the Century.
His first season as coach was considered a successfull one as he was able to ready his players for the call-up to senior footy.

Luke Beveridge

Luke Beveridge comes to Collingwood having spent the past three seasons as the head coach of St Bedes in the Victorian Amateur Football Association.
He coached St Bedes to three successive premierships moving up a section level each year from C section in 2006 to A grade in section in 2008.
Beveridge enjoyed a solid playing career, in which he appeared in 118 AFL games and kicked 107 goals in 11 seasons for Melbourne, Footscray and St Kilda.
Beveridge’s grandfather, Jack Beveridge, was a champion for the Collingwood Football Club playing 148 games including four premierships during the ‘Machine Team’ era (1927-1930). |
