2007 season
After playing in round one against the Kangaroos, Lonie was cut down by an ongoing groin injury and didn't make it back into the senior side until round 16. He strung three games together and showed some promising signs, but his groin injury flared and he was unable to add to his four games for the year despite playing finals for Williamstown in an attempt to earn a senior recall.

Career
The tall, running defender/wingman has now played 122 games in seven seasons and been part of two Grand Final campaigns. From 2001-2004 Collingwood fans became accustomed to seeing the boy from Frankston dashing down the wing and sending the ball forward with his long, penetrating left foot. An injury-riddled 2005 was forgotten with an excellent 2006 campaign, where he played 22 games and averaged a career-best 18 possessions per game. However, a groin injury cruelly cut his 2007 to just four games.
