2009 season
After four years on Collingwood’s list, Danny Stanley was delisted after the 2009 season.

The midfielder, who was a consistent standout performer in the VFL, was unable to perform at an AFL level.

He earned his final AFL game and just his fifth of his career in the round seven loss to St Kilda.

A hard worker with good endurance, Stanley’s leadership will be missed in the VFL next year.

Career
Stanley made his Collingwood debut in the round 11 Queen's Birthday game against Melbourne in 2007, his second year at the club, and also played with distinction in the win in Sydney a week later. A robust midfielder who can also play in defence, Stanley developed into a fine contributor for Williamstown during 2007 after playing the whole season for Collingwood's VFL affiliate in 2006.  He played 13 games for the VFL side in 2008 while also earning two senior games.  His run at Collingwood ended in 2009, delisted after a strong year in the VFL yet only contributed one senior game.
