Lappin spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Carlton before signing on as an assistant coach at Collingwood at the end of 2010.  He has overseen the forward line over the last two years.

A former All Australian (2004), Lappin amassed 251 games playing for St Kilda and Carlton.  He was Carlton's leading goal kicker in 2001 and ended his career with 247 majors. He played in two Grand Finals (1997 and 1999) and represented Australia on three separate occasions in the International Rules Series.

As the team's offensive coach, he oversaw the side kick the second highest number of goals (415) in its history during the home and away season.

Playing career: St Kilda 1994-98 (55 games, 26 goals), Carlton 1999-07 (196 games, 221 goals). Total: 251 games, 247 goals.

Honours: St Kilda: Grand Final side 1997. Carlton: Pre-Season Premiership side (2005, 2007), All-Australian (2004), Leading Goalkicker (2001), AFL Mark of the Year (1999), International Rules Series (2001, 2005, 2006).

Coaching Career: Carlton assistant 2008-2010, Collingwood assistant (forwards coach) 2011.
