Ben Kennedy won't forget Saturday night in a hurry.

The South Australian, who only celebrated his 19th birthday last week, became the first of Collingwood's four draftees to appear at senior level in the Magpies 34-point NAB Cup loss to Brisbane.

Watch Ben Kennedy kick his first NAB Cup goal in the third quarter of Saturday night's loss.

Kennedy arrived at the club via the 19th overall selection in last November's National Draft and in time will add pace, grunt and cheek to Collingwood's midfield.

He was named as an emergency for last week's trip west and appeared destined to suffer the same fate again on Saturday night until Harry O'Brien's late withdrawal opened the door.

After starting on the interchange, Kennedy didn't take long to get into the swing of things.

Although he stands at only 174cm, the boy from Glenelg showed an appetite for getting hands dirty in the centre where he managed to hunt down 19 possessions, take four marks and lay two tackles, not to mention the goal he kicked during the third quarter.

For those taken by Fantasy Footy, Kennedy registered a healthy 74 DreamTeam points for the night.
