Sunday's match between Collingwood and Adelaide at the MCG aims to raise funds for the Victorian Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service, which patrols the state’s busy coastline from Waratah to Apollo Bay.

The club’s Premier Partner, Westpac has supported the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service for more than 40 years, making it the longest corporate community partnership in Australia.

Westpac’s support has contributed to rapid expansion of the service; from a single aircraft performing beach surveillance and rescue in 1973, to a national operation made up of 16 helicopters flying from 13 bases.

Westpac Victoria, with the help of Collingwood is aiming to raise $100,000 to fund the upgrade of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter base in Barwon Heads.

Westpac staff and Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter volunteers will collect money around the concourse prior to Sunday’s match.
