The President, Board, staff, players and members of the Collingwood Football Club would like to express their sadness at the passing of Jim Smith.

Jim made a terrific contribution to the club both on and off the field.

He began his time at Victoria Park while playing for the Collingwood seconds, before going on to serve as a reserves committee man for nine years and later a senior committee man from 1964 until 1979.

Smith was made a Life Member of the club in 1973 and was on the MCG to witness the unveiling of the 2010 premiership pennant prior to the clash with Carlton in round three, 2011.

The club extends its deepest sympathies to the Smith family. His contribution to the Black and White will not be forgotten.
