The entire Collingwood team will travel to Queenstown, New Zealand this weekend for its 2015 pre-season training camp.

The players will take part in seven days of training, conditioning and development sessions, which will include an adventure race through the picturesque mountain area.

Earlier this month, Collingwood Director of Football Neil Balme said the trip to Queenstown would provide a welcome change of scenery for the players with the extra long pre-season this year.

“The players had a strong pre-Christmas training period but still have a long time before the season begins, due to the later start of the 2015 AFL season," Balme said.

“The primary focus of going to Queenstown will be to help give the boys a fresh perspective and break up the extended pre-season period.

“The camp has been designed with a focus on conditioning and football, as well as providing the players with a new environment to work in.

“Any training camp like this provides a positive benefit and a boost in mentality; it will be as much about the head as it is the body”.
