To collect 32 disposals, kick two goals, have a hand in four others and contribute five clearances sounds like a fairly normal game for Scott Pendlebury.

For most other footballers, it's one out of the box, but for the Collingwood captain it's the continuation of the beginning of yet another fine season.

It earned him the maximum ten votes from Nathan Buckley and Mick Malthouse in the AFL Coaches Association's Champion Player of the Year Award.

Pendlebury's performance propelled him to equal third place in the overall leaderboard, behind only Fremantle's Nat Fyfe and Sydney's Dan Hannebery and level with Greater Western Sydney's Dylan Shiel with 29 votes.

Friday night's voting was dominated by the men in Black and White.

Former rookie Adam Oxley continued to receive recognition for his outstanding start to the year, polling eight votes for his 26 disposals and career-high 11 marks.

Jack Crisp earned his first five votes after winning a career-high 26 disposals, Taylor Adams received four as a result of his 27 touches, Tyson Goldsack took home two after another fine exhibition of defensive pressure and Dane Swan notched a single following another fine display (25 disposals).
