What’s on this week?

Football’s ability to help the greater community will on be show at the MCG when Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs support two worthy causes.

As well as battling for a precious four premiership points, the winner of Sunday’s game will be awarded the Robert Rose Cup, supporting disability inclusion. The match will also play an integral role in the AFL-wide Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round.

Here is what will be happening at, and around the ground in round 10.

Robert Rose Cup

Sunday’s game will mark the 17th time Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs have played for the Robert Rose Cup.

Proudly supported by Slater and Gordon, the cup supports the Robert Rose Foundation and those with links to spinal cord injuries.

The Western Bulldogs currently hold the Robert Rose Cup, with Lachie Hunter from the Bulldogs the reigning Rose-Sutton Medallist as the best player on the ground.

Slater and Gordon and the Robert Rose Foundation will have a presence on the MCG concourse before the game, while there will also be a post-match presentation on the ground.

Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round

In round 10, Collingwood will wear a limited edition Indigenous jumper to recognise Australia’s first people and their association to the AFL.

Collingwood’s jumper is designed by Indigenous artist Nathan Patterson, and highlights the Magpies’ commitment to indigenous communities and the ongoing Barrawarn Program.
