The time and date of Collingwood’s round 23 clash with Hawthorn has been announced.

The Magpies will meet the Hawks on Sunday 28 August at the MCG.

A start time of 3.20pm will bring the Pies’ home and away season to an end.

The round 23 fixture in the past has been structured in a manner that will allow the clubs likely to finish in the top four an adequate break between their final home and away game and their first final, while taking into account any potential travel factors involved.

In 2016, all teams in the top eight at the end of the season will enjoy a week off before the commencement of the finals series.

After 18 rounds, Hawthorn sits in 1st position on the AFL ladder with 14 wins and three losses.

Collingwood is placed in 12th spot with seven wins from twelve games.

The pair haven’t met this season, with the most recent clash in round 14 last season resulting in a narrow 10-point Hawthorn victory.

The round 23 meeting between the two sides marks the third time since 2010 the home and away season has ended with a clash between the Pies and Hawks.
