The final siren on Grand Final Day brings the curtain down on the 2016 AFL season.

But it doesn’t mean you’ve made your last trip to the MCG.

The home of football will be holding its annual open day on Sunday 2 October.

Between 11am and 4pm, the Collingwood marquee will be providing 2016 membership and merchandise giveaways, posters and help fill you in with all the details you need for your 2017 membership.

There will also be the opportunity to sign up and receive membership information and updates about the newly formed Collingwood Magpies Netball team.

Out on the hallowed turf, supporters will have the opportunity to relive their favourite sporting moments with a kick-to-kick with family and friends.

Kids can participate in free cricket clinics courtesy of the Melbourne Stars, while you will be able to create your own Grand Final celebration and have your photo taken with the 2016 replica AFL premiership cup (at the reduced cost of $5 per photo if pre-registered).

Supporters will also be able to explore the inner sanctum of the MCG, view the player change rooms and cricket viewing rooms and check out the Melbourne Cricket Club Library and Long Room.

The National Sports Museum will also be operating at a discounted cost of just $5.

Plenty of food and drink will be available, as well as free face painting and roaming entertainment.
