Injuries: Who plays on Friday? Join Director of Football Geoff Walsh as he provides Collingwood's first Blackmores Injury Update of the team's clash with the Western Bulldogs in round one.

Scott Pendlebury is likely to be available to play against the Western Bulldogs on Friday evening.

Collingwood expects Scott Pendlebury to be fit to play against the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.

The captain missed the club’s final JLT Series Community match against Richmond with an Achilles complaint, but Director of Football Geoff Walsh says Pendlebury is likely to be fit to take his place.

“Pendles missed the game in Moe with some Achilles soreness, but he has trained since,” Walsh told Collingwood Media.

“He is expected to train solidly this week and is available for selection.”

The news isn’t as positive for Levi Greenwood (hip) and Jordan De Goey (knuckle), who were both sent in for surgery on Monday morning.

“Levi had surgery on his hip on Monday,” Walsh continued.

“We would expect that that would keep Levi out for probably about a month.

“It was as a result of a knock that he received in the Fremantle JLT game on 4 March.

“Jordan had an accident at home on the weekend and has broken a knuckle in his right hand.

“He needs surgery, so we would expect that it would be about a three-week injury for him. It’s unfortunate, because he was well in line for selection this week.”

Another high profile Magpie, Jamie Elliott, will also sit out Friday’s match.

“As we said last week, if Jamie didn’t train last Friday then we would have him in some doubt for round one,” Walsh explained.

“He didn’t train, as has been well documented, so he won’t be available.

“He is not that far away and we would expect that this time next week he will have some good, strong training under his belt.”

Walsh also revealed young forward Ben Crocker is likely to make a return from an ankle complaint in the VFL this Friday.
