Collingwood VFL coach Jared Rivers can see his side gelling as the VFL Magpies look to secure a fourth consecutive victory at Victoria Park on Saturday.

Wins over Port Melbourne (1st), Footscray (4th) and Geelong (10th) leave Collingwood as the in-form team of the competition and Rivers can see the group’s confidence increasing every week.

“The last three weeks you can see that connection with the mids and forwards,” Rivers said on Collingwood Media’s ‘From Lulie Street’.

“The boys are in some good form and we just have to keep going.”

Returning to the side for this week’s clash with Williamstown are two players who performed admirably against Geelong last Saturday.

While no doubt looking for an AFL trip to the Gold Coast, James Aish and Rupert Wills are expected to take the field at Victoria Park this weekend.

Aish is coming back after a 28-disposal, eight-tackles and one-goal game, while Wills had 33 touches and five tackles against the Cats.

“It was great to see him (Aish) play inside mid which is his best position. He played four quarters in there and did a really good job.” Rivers said

“He (Wills) has backed up two really strong performances again and played a really good role again on the weekend… His body is holding up which is the best thing.”

Collingwood now has the challenge of facing a Williamstown outfit who have won four out of their past five games.

17 AFL-listed players have been named, with inclusion Mason Cox expected to be a potent tall forward target, while Tim Broomhead will prove a handful for small defenders.

The clash will kick off at 1pm at Victoria Park.
