Jordan De Goey has been rewarded for his match-winning performance against West Coast on Sunday afternoon at Etihad Stadium, polling eight votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.

The 21-year-old kicked four second-half goals and amassed 20 disposals as his side overcame an 18-point deficit in the final term to defeat the Eagles by 10 points.

After spending time in the midfield in recent weeks, De Goey was forced forward due to Darcy Moore's suspected neck injury and showcased his attacking prowess for the Magpies.

“It was a breakout game for a young man who has had a lot going on this year,” Network Ten’s sports reporter Rob Waters said on Collingwood Media’s ‘The Agenda’.

“(Jordan) was a high draft pick. There’s plenty of hope and optimism about him, but we hadn’t seen the extent (of his potential) until yesterday.

“That was an unbelievably good performance.”

Joining De Goey in the votes were Jack Crisp, Brodie Grundy, Levi Greenwood and Adam Treloar.

Crisp received five votes from the coaches after starring with 33 disposals – at 79 per cent efficiency – six marks, four clearances and six tackles.

Grundy continued with his impressive run of form this season, recording 19 disposals, 42 hitouts, three marks, two clearances and seven tackles.

Midfielder Levi Greenwood was recognized for his defensive job on West Coast star Andrew Gaff with three votes, after limiting the midfielder to 16 disposals – a season low for the Eagle.

Greenwood collected 16 touches himself, as well kicking one goal and assists on four other scoring opportunities.

Adam Treloar was the fifth and final Magpie to poll votes, after he recorded a game-high 35 touches, six tackles and six clearances.

Coaches Nathan Buckley and Adam Simpson gave West Coast forward Josh Kennedy votes after his six-goal haul in game 200, while West Coast captain Shannon Hurn earned points for his 29 poessions off half back.
