Collingwood’s VFL side could find themselves out of the top eight this week after falling to Geelong by five points at the Holden Centre.

Down by 11 points at the final break, the Magpies fought back – courtesy of two Kayle Kirby goals in the final 15 minutes - but ultimately, couldn’t capitalise with their opportunities on the score board.

The Pies looked dangerous in front of goals throughout the day, but the 17 behinds is what will haunt Jared Rivers and his playing group when reviewing the game.

Lachlan Keeffe impressed with two goals, while midfielders Campbell Lane, Jack Hellier and defender Jordan Kelly were busy for the Pies.

As has been the case in the past month, Jesse White found plenty of the ball rotating throughout the ruck, on the wing and up forward, while Kye Beverdige and Jack Blair were solid in defeat.
