Collingwood assistant coach Scott Burns will depart the Holden Centre to join Hawthorn Football Club’s coaching panel.

Following his 264-game career at the Pies, the Collingwood Hall of Famer returned to the club in 2014 to oversee the midfield. Burns had previously completed five years as an assistant coach with the West Coast Eagles.

General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh thanked Burns for his contribution to the club.

“Scott has given outstanding service to this club over the past two decades in his various roles as a player, captain and assistant coach,” Walsh said.

“’Burnsy’ has established many long-lasting relationships over his time and he leaves as a great of this football club. We wish Scott and his family all the best in their next chapter.”

After playing 264 senior games in Black and White, Scott Burns served as an assistant coach between 2014 and 2017.
