Report: Strong start falls short

AFL Media  February 10, 2018 9:02 PM

Watch Saturday's AFLW highlights Take in all the key moments from Collingwood's loss to Fremantle in the second round of the AFL Women's competition.

Fremantle overcame a fast-starting Collingwood outfit to mark the first match at the new Optus Stadium with a 13-point win.

The Magpies had the better of their opponents early with slick ball-movement and manic forward pressure etching the opportunity for Emma King to become the first goal-scorer at Optus Stadium.

But for every Collingwood player there seemed to be two Dockers on hand to make them pay for costly skill errors, often the consequence of relentless pressure.

Michelle Cowan’s brigade eventually overhauled the Magpies’ two-goal head-start, kicking six of the last eight goals to register its first win for 2018.
