Collingwood’s 2018 VFL campaign will begin with a practice match against Richmond at the Punt Road Oval on Thursday evening.

The match will begin at 6pm and be played across four 25-minute quarters.

Given several AFL-listed players took part in the VFL team’s intra-club match last Friday night, this week’s match looms as another opportunity for key Magpies to impress the match committee ahead of round one.

A host of new faces have made their way into the VFL team’s program for 2018.

Former Carlton and Williamstown forward Andrew Gallucci headlines a group of players including Elliott Le Grice (Sandringham), Callan Wellings (Greater Western Victoria), Nick Sing (Williamstown) and Sean Hetherington (Williamstown) who have decided to further their careers in the Black and White stripes.

The VFL Magpies will play another three practice matches before opening their home and away season against the Northern Blues at Preston City Oval on Saturday 7 April.

Parking is limited, and supporters are encouraged to catch public transport to the match. Punt Road Oval is well serviced by trains from both Richmond and Jolimont Stations.
