VFL: Gallant Pies slayed by Demons

Collingwood fell short against Casey in its Round 10 VFL clash on Saturday, falling by 23 points.

The Magpies fell behind early and were unable to wrest the lead from the hosts, who kept the Pies at arm’s length.

Collingwood looked threatening at times in the last quarter, as it looked to play on at all costs and attack the corridor. After two Casey goals to start the quarter, the margin was trimmed to as low as 11 before the Demons killed off the contest.

For the Magpies, Brayden Sier impressed in his first game back from injury, while Jarryd Blair was consistently involved all day.

The Pies will have next week off to regroup, before returning to action in Round 12 against Northern Blues.
