Collingwood vice-captain Taylor Adams is delighted with how his teammates have thrown themselves into their work during pre-season so far.

The Magpies wrapped up their pre-Christmas training block with a tough session at the Holden Centre on Tuesday morning.

“It was actually really good,” Adams told Track Talk. “Pre-season’s been quite enjoyable so far.

“We’ve got a program where we’re doing a lot of footy stuff … a lot less of just running around the outside of the oval, so it’s been really enjoyable.

“They boys are feeding off each other. There’s a lot of energy out there at the moment, so it’s been a great start.”

During their match-simulation session, the Pies worked on adapting to the new six-six-six rule, which aims to create more open play after goals are scored.

“I think we’re trying to get our heads around the new rules,” Adams said.

“It’s always good fun trying those new rules and you get to see how, when we play 18 v 18, the other team reacts to them.

“I think it’s really important to try and get our heads around them nice and early.”
