The Pies' AFLW team will make history on Saturday when it plays its first match at the Collingwood’s spiritual home, Victoria Park.

Midfielder and leadership group member Brittany Bonnici says it’s an honour to play at a place that holds so much meaning for the club.

“It’s pretty exciting to play round two of the AFLW season against Melbourne at our spiritual home ground, Victoria Park,” she told collingwoodfc.com.au.

“We know just how much history Collingwood has in general and Victoria Park is a big part of that.

“So we’re happy to be making a little bit more history there and hopefully take out our first win in that game.”

After Collingwood’s one-point loss to Geelong in last weekend Bonnici says the team has taken time to reflect and refocus ahead of this weekend’s game.

“Being so close to the win in round 1, we want to focus on what we did well and we know what we didn’t do so well in that game,” she said.

“We want to take those aspects of our game to the next level and really bring the tackling pressure and the intent of round 1.”
