The VFL Magpies kicked four unanswered goals in the final quarter to pull off a famous 10-point victory against the Casey Scorpions at Casey Fields on Sunday afternoon; 13.22 (100) to 13.12 (90).

Down by 20 points at the start of the final term, Collingwood’s intensity for the contest lifted as the side charged ahead to dominate the stoppages, inside 50s and the scoreboard.



After a strong performance last weekend, Simon Buckley worked his way into the game and proved pivotal in the final term booting two goals.



With the absence of John Anthony (ankle) up forward, Chris Dawes assumed responsibility with three goals for the match and took several contested marks.  The 21-year-old worked hard all day serving as the key target while supplying his teammates with several goal assists.

Ruckman Cameron Wood got through his first match since he suffered a finger injury in the NAB Challenge game against Adelaide.  His game improved over the course of the day and will benefit from another run next week.  



Veteran midfielder Shane O’Bree was lively and provided a much-needed spark late in the final term to help see his side over the line.



The VFL Magpies will host Bendigo at Victoria Park next Saturday 24 April at 2pm.
