Fast, athletic and blessed with an incredible leap, Mooney represents a unique footballing package. Excelled at Gaelic Football in Ireland, and is tipped to begin his career at half forward. He is the fourth Irishman to join Collingwood's books.

The speedy Irish import surprised many when he was elevated and broke through for his AFL debut against Fremantle in round 14, less than a year after he took up the game and moved to Australia. Played four senior games and has shown immense potential and promise. Will improve as he develops more game sense.

Season By Season

Played Gaelic football for County Down before relocating to Melbourne to begin his Australian Football career at Collingwood. Flew to Arizona as a member of Collingwood’s pre-season training camp and will return to Australia to continue his pre-season in January.

Visited Collingwood for a one-month trial under development coaches Paul Licuria and Luke Beveridge. Signed a two year contract at Collingwood to commence at the end of the 2011 season.
