Represented WA at the NAB AFL U18 Championships. He played in three games, averaging 10 hitouts, after injury had restricted his availability. He is a naturally a very athletic player who is still developing his craft in the ruck and has the scope to play in key positions at either end.

Played for the Swan Districts Colts in the WAFL where he averaged 22 hitouts, 17.4 disposals and 3.4 tackles. He played one senior match, where he won 17 possessions, seven marks and booted one major. Represented Western Australia at the U18 National Championships. He was drafted to Collingwood with pick No. 65 in the National Draft.

Struggled with a hip flexor injury that was a result of a sudden growth spurt. It meant that he developed into a ruckman, having played much of his junior footy as a midfielder.
