The Collingwood Football Club announced in October 2017 that Optus will be a major partner of its AFL Women's program for the next three years.

Optus are renowned for their support of sport and are an advocate of developing professionalism into women’s sport.

"The AFLW has been the break-out Australian sport over the last year and has had a significant, positive impact on women’s football in this country. With more teams joining the league it will continue to thrive and Optus is excited to support the Collingwood AFLW team to help the sport grow, while giving current and future players a stronger career path than ever before," said John Paitaridis, Managing Director Optus Business.

Interim Collingwood CEO Peter Murphy said the partnership is symbolic of Optus’ commitment to the growth of women’s sport at Collingwood Football Club and in the wider community.

“Following the exciting inaugural AFL Women’s completion, we’re delighted to have Optus join Collingwood’s AFLW program for 2018 and beyond,” Murphy said.

“Collingwood, like Optus, is committed to developing women’s sporting opportunities, with the AFL Women’s competition forming the perfect pathway for female footballers to play at the highest level.”

The Optus logo will proudly feature on the Collingwood AFLW polo shirts, match signage and website.
