Didak returns in VFL loss

Alan Didak made his return to football in Collingwood's 116-point loss to the Box Hill Hawks on Saturday morning.

Didak, who hasn't played since he tore his adductor muscle in the opening minutes of Collingwood's win over Melbourne on the Queen's Birthday in round 11, moved well and spent a lot of his time in the centre.

After a bright start in which Jackson Paine kicked two great first quarter goals, the Magpies were swamped by a well drilled and talent-laden Box Hill line up that comprised Hawthorn stars Luke Hodge and Chance Bateman.

Big men Max Bailey and Luke Lowden ran amok, giving the Collingwood backline no end of trouble.

Simon Buckley and Marty Clarke, two of the three emergencies for Collingwood's AFL clash with Hawthorn, both took to the field for the VFL team. Caolan Mooney was held over for the senior match, replacing Ben Sinclair in the selected side.
