Collingwood midfielder Jarryd Blair has been nominated for Mark of the Round following his screamer over Essendon’s Jobe Watson.

Blair stands only 174cm tall but managed to get the sit and complete the mark over his 190cm opponent in the forward pocket late in the first quarter.

He duly settled to kick the Magpies’ first goal of the afternoon.

Fans are given the chance to vote for their favourite mark and goal each week in order to go into the running for the weekly cash prize of $200 and the major cash prize of $5000 at the end of the season, thanks to Lifebroker and British Paints.

At the conclusion of the home and away season, the All-Australian Selection Committee selects the three best goals and marks from the 23 weekly selections from the AFL panel, along with any public selections that differ. The selection will be based on a 5-4-3-2-1 vote given by each member of the selection committee.

The 2013 Mark of the Year will be announced prior to this year’s Grand Final.
