In a presentation filled with class and humour, the curtain officially came down on Dane Swan's remarkable AFL career.

Family, friends, teammates, coaches and the media gathered at the Holden Centre to reflect on the stories behind Swan's 258-game journey.

Among them was President Eddie McGuire, Nathan Buckley and 2010 Premiership coach Mick Malthouse.

AFL Media photographer Michael Willson was in the room to capture some of the best photos of a landmark day of the Collingwood Football Club.
