Recap: VFL Pies advance to prelim

Qualifying Final in 60 seconds Watch highlights from Collingwood's 56 point victory over Williamstown in the 2nd Qualifying Final.

Collingwood has advanced to a VFL Preliminary Final with a 46-point win over Williamstown at IKON Park.

Recap all the action, as it happened, from the match against Williamstown below.

Lachlan Ferguson came off the ground in the hands of trainers after seven minutes in the first term. Shook off the trainers and returned to the ground midway through the term.
Marley Williams and Lachlan Howe added clever goals in the middle period of the quarter to lead the VFL Magpies to a 20-point lead.
- After a dominant fortnight, Ryan Pendlebury started well - cutting off a number of Williamstown attacks.
Rupert Wills and Tom Phillips had a big influence after returning from stints in Collingwood's AFL team. Phillips set up Howe's second goal with a blistering turn of pace along the wing.
- It took 26 minutes, but Williamstown finally got their first goal on the board through Sam Dunnell
- Williamstown take momentum in the final minutes of the quarter, but can't make the most of it on the scoreboard. Three behinds in quick succession at the Legends Stand end.

- The second term starts the same way as the first one. Despite Williamstown taking momentum into quarter-time, the Magpies controlled the early stages of the second term.
- Four straight goals go the way of the VFL Magpies. They start with Phillips and Ferguson and are followed by majors from Brent Macaffer and Ben Moloney.
- It appears as though Jack Frost's day may be over. The key defender came off the ground and entered the rooms at half-time on crutches and with a tracksuit top on.

- Lachlan Howe continued to impress in his role as a key forward. He kicked his third goal to get scoring underway in the third quarter.
- Rupert Wills booked a spot in the highlights reel with a soaring mark on the forward flank. The resulting forward entry saw Jordan Collopy kick his first goal of the day.
- Captain Jack Hellier was left clutching his shoulder after copping a knock in Williamstown's forward pocket at the Legends end. He had a quick consultation with trainers on the field before coming from the ground.
- Just minutes after losing his captain, Ben Moloney was left lying on the ground in the centre square. He was helped from the ground by trainers, leaving just two fit players on the Collingwood bench.
- Inaccuracy hurt the Seagulls as they kicked 0.5 in the first 20 minutes of the quarter. Two goals quickly followed from the men in the blue and gold as the lead was cut back to 36 points.

- Marley Williams kicked his second goal of the game in bizarre circumstances. His long kick from outside 50 landed at the top of the goal-square, but bounced its way through a pack on the goal-line and through for a remarkable major.
- Not sure if it was out of jealousy of Williams, but Ben Crocker was never going to do anything but take a shot when he marked 50-metres out, on the boundary line. The first-year forward made no mistake as the Collingwood lead crept to a match-winning margin.
- Williamstown kicked a late one, but as they did the "Collingwood" chant went around IKON Park.
