VFL: Close contest in Casey

Known for its cold and blustery conditions, Casey Fields has produced a picture-perfect backdrop for some Saturday afternoon round 8 VFL action.

And the football hasn’t disappointed.

At half time, the VFL Magpies trail the Demons 5.4 (34) to 8.8 (56).

Coast-to-coast football, lead changes and ferocious ball pressure have been the story of the day so far as the VFL Magpies find themselves entrenched in a tight contest on the road.

After going goal-for-goal in the first 15 minutes of the game, two goals courtesy of Demon Bayley Fritsch awarded Casey some much needed breathing space.

But two quick goals to Chris Mayne and Josh Daicos to kick start the second term ensured the Magpies were well and truly in the game.

However, the Demons flexed their muscles late in the second term, kicking four straight goals to secure a 22-point lead heading into the major break.
