Pendles in the clear

Pendlebury's injury against the Lions Watch the moment Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury injured his ankle against the Brisbane Lions on Sunday evening.

Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury has been cleared of serious injury and remains in contention to play against Geelong at the MCG this Sunday.

Pendlebury suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of last Sunday’s match against Brisbane at the Gabba and withdrew from the match in the third term.

Scans today have cleared the five-time Copeland Trophy winner of serious injury.

"Scott is out of the protective boot he wore home from Brisbane and the upshot is that he has bruising to his ankle and lower shin,' Collingwood's General Manager of Football, Geoff Walsh, said.

"He has been cleared of anything more serious than that, which is pleasing, and he is a chance to play against the Cats. We will obviously need to see how he negotiates the remainder of the training week."
