Moore remains in the frame

The verdict on Darcy's hamstring General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh has the latest on Darcy Moore's hamstring tightness, as well as some good news for Steele Sidebottom, Tyson Goldsack, Ben Reid and Adam Treloar.

Darcy Moore remains a chance to face Richmond in Saturday’s MCG blockbuster, despite missing last week’s match against North Melbourne with hamstring tightness.

Moore was an eleventh-hour withdrawal from the Collingwood side that recorded a 66-point win, with the club opting not to risk the youngster given his soft tissue concerns earlier this year.

General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh told Collingwood Media’s Injury Update Moore is expected to spend the week in full training with the intention of being available for selection this Saturday.

“Pleasingly, the examination and the scans following up show that there has been no further damage to Darcy in terms of the hamstring that had kept him out for a while previously, which is good news,” Walsh said.

“Functionally, we would expect him to be able to put a full week in on the track and by the end of the week be putting his hand up for selection.”

Walsh also confirmed vice-captain Steele Sidebottom will take on the Tigers this weekend.

“There was some wild media speculation about Steele Sidebottom having sustained some serious damage to his jaw,” he continued.

“But pleasingly, we can say that they are absolutely rumours.

“Steele will train this week and will certainly be available to play against Richmond on Saturday.”
