Tyson Goldsack will complete his rapid return from a knee reconstruction when the VFL Pies host Sandringham at Victoria Park on Saturday.

The 31-year-old injured his knee in Collingwood’s final JLT Community Series match against the Western Bulldogs in Moe in March.

He was slated to return in the VFL a couple of weeks ago, only to have plans interrupted by back soreness.

But Goldsack has trained strongly over the past week and has been named in a forward pocket.

Flynn Appleby also returns to action after a long layoff due to a hamstring injury. He has been named at full-back.

The VFL Pies head into the last round of home and away matches in fifth place on the ladder with an 11-6 record.
