Collingwood key defender Darcy Moore has been named in AFL.com.au's Team of the Week for round one after his impressive return to senior football against Geelong.

Moore was selected in the back pocket after racking up 16 disposals and four marks. Moore excelled with his disposal, 10 out of 13 kicks running at 100% efficiency. Moore was impactful through reading the opposition play, with four intercept marks.

With the exciting defender missing most of the 2018 season, Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley is enthusiastic about having him link up with the likes of Roughead, Howe and Langdon.

“He had some work to do, Darce. I thought aerially in our back six we were pretty strong — we were able to clear the crumbing area more often than not and Darcy was able to take some nice marks,” Buckley said after the narrow loss to Geelong.
