Brodie Grundy, Tom Phillips and Jordan De Goey were the Collingwood players to poll votes in the AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player of the Year award after the Pies' win over the Western Bulldogs at the MCG on Friday night.

Grundy received eight votes for his dominant performance in the ruck, while Phillips polled five votes after an impressive effort on the wing.

De Goey, who turned the match in the Magpies' favour after he was shifted into the middle, received two votes.

Every round, the AFL coaches vote for the best players from their game. The coaches vote for five players, giving them a mark from 1-5. The maximum a player can score is 10 (with five votes from both coaches).
