Collingwood welcomes back Will Hoskin-Elliott and Levi Greenwood to its line-up for the round six Anzac Day clash against Essendon at the MCG on Thursday.

General Manager of Football, Geoff Walsh, cannot fault the professionalism of the versatile goal kicker since undergoing a procedure to release the iliotibial band in February.

“Will has been in full training for the best part of a month. He recovered well from the surgery and then worked tremendously hard under the supervision of the high performance team to get back into the program,” Walsh said.

“It became apparent over the last couple of weeks that he was physically ready to play. The question was where? Given his athleticism and the amount of work he was coping with, a decision was made to bring him straight up. He is no-nonsense, Will, but very important to us as his season last year proved.”

Hoskin-Elliott comes into the side for Jamie Elliott, who sustained a corked buttock and is expected to be fit for selection in round seven against Port Adelaide.

Levi Greenwood returns to the Collingwood line-up in place of James Aish who is managing concussion from round five.

The first bounce is set for 3.20pm, with the MCG expected to attract more than 90,000 fans.

Rupert Wills, Ben Crocker, Isaac Quaynor and Ben Reid have been named as emergencies.
