Will Kelly will make his first appearance for Collingwood on Saturday afternoon against Essendon.

Kelly is the son of Collingwood premiership player Craig. He arrived at the club as a father-son selection with pick 29 in last year’s national draft.

His first AFL pre-season has been hampered by ankle problems but he has overcome his injury to take his place on Saturday.

He is joined by fellow defender Jack Madgen as a confirmed inclusion. Madgen missed last week’s loss to Northern Blues with concussion symptoms.

Saturday’s match takes on added significance for Collingwood. Essendon ended the Pies’ VFL season in 2018 by defeating them in an elimination final.
