Brodie Grundy and Steele Sidebottom couldn't be separated in the AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player of the Year award after the Pies' 41-point win over St Kilda at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

Sidebottom was electric with 29 disposals, two goals and 11 score involvements, including a savvy kick across goal to Brody Mihocek for his fourth major in the dying stages.

Grundy was vital in the Pies' surge in the second half, finishing with 24 touches (18 contested) and 49 hit-outs.
