Collingwood’s VFLW side has claimed it’s biggest win this season with a 33-point victory over the Northern Territory Thunder at Victoria Park on Saturday.

The win marks the Pies' third in a row and they now sit in third position on the ladder.

Collingwood debutant Brianna Davey was excited to run out with the team for the first time.

“With an impressive work rate and just the way every player puts their head over the footy, it was a great performance from the group and I’m so happy to be a part of it,” Davey told collingwood.com.au.

The Pies had clear intent from the start, but struggled to make the most of their opportunities in the second half.

“We were a bit uncomposed at times which we’ll work on and develop with more games throughout the season,” Davey said.

In her first appearance with the side this year, Sarah Dargan was quick out of the blocks, claiming the first goal of the match in the opening minute.

Chloe Molloy soon followed, booting one directly in front of goal in her first game in eight months.

In the remaining minute of the opener, Jasmyn Hewett managed to kick a long goal for the Thunder, but was the only goal they scored for the game.

The game took a turn in the second quarter with poor skill execution from both sides creating for some very scrappy footy.

The Pies only managed to boot four points compared with the Thunder’s single behind.

In the second half, Collingwood's Brittany Bonnici continued her outstanding efforts from previous weeks, providing immense pressure around the ball and clear hands out of the pack.

Also performing well were Davey and Paige Nash.

Jordyn Allen managed to boot a long goal, before Jaimee Lambert snapped one from an angle near the boundary line.

A goal from debutant Gemma Lagioia put the icing on the cake in the final term.

A member of the Victoria Metro side, Lagioia’s speed and ability to read the play was simply outstanding and she’ll definitely be one to keep an eye on.

The Pies now turn their focus to their round five match against the Demons at Casey Fields next Sunday.

Davey is looking forward to getting out there again with the team.

“This group has a bundle of talent and I’m looking forward to what the rest of the season has in store,” Davey said.
