Call it teammate bias, but Adam Treloar has a left-field suggestion for a man who should have been named in the All Australian team.

Brodie Grundy, Steele Sidebottom, Jordan De Goey and Scott Pendlebury were all rewarded for fantastic years with nominations into the overall squad of 40 potential All Australians.

The one Treloar thought was missing?

Jack Crisp.

“I think one who missed on the squad who should have been there is Crispy,” Treloar told Collingwood Media podcast ‘Sports Galore’.

“How is he not in the squad? He’s right up there with Rory Laird and Lachie Whitfield who were named at half back.

“Crispy is right up there.”

The suggestion comes from outside the box, but may have merit.

Crisp has statistically improved in multiple areas in his fourth season in Black and White. He averaged a career-high 23.23 touches a game in 2018 in a half-back role crucial to the team’s success.

Making his year even better is the sheer consistency of his efforts. After crossing from the Brisbane Lions, the 24 year has never missed a Collingwood game. He’s played 88 of a possible 88 games for the Magpies, and brought up his 100th AFL game in round 17 against West Coast.

All this is enough to convince Treloar that an All Australian nod should have at least been considered by the selectors.
