Collingwood stars Jordan De Goey and Adam Treloar will return from injury to face Gold Coast on Monday night. 

De Goey hasn't played since round seven when he booted five goals against Geelong but damaged a finger tendon, an injury that required surgery.  

Treloar has only managed six games this season and none since round 10, when he suffered his latest hamstring injury against Sydney. 

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said his squad for Monday's clash would train on Saturday night, while the remainder of the group would play in a scratch match against the Suns earlier in the day. 

"We've pretty much only got our selected side running around this evening and both Jordy and Adam will be with that group and playing on Monday," he said. 

Buckley acknowledged there was a minor chance of De Goey suffering another injury to his surgically repaired finger but said the star forward had been cleared to play. 

"The finger's right to go. We understand there's a little bit of a risk with re-injury but the surgeon was happy for him to get back to contact work and playing, and he's done a fair bit of touch over the last couple of weeks and getting that pin out earlier this week was the last step," he said. 

The news isn't as positive for Jeremy Howe, with Buckley conceding the strong-marking defender would struggle to play again in 2020 after his significant knee injury. 

"We've never said never with Howie but the likelihood is that he will struggle to get up," he said.

"We haven't been planning for Howie for the most part, I suppose, hoping that he could beat the challenge in front of him but it's more likely than not that that injury will prove too much for him to get back."
