It was a typical first session back for Collingwood’s AFLW team on Monday night with the players participating in a range of skills tests.
The session kicked off with a bench press test before the players ran it out in the ultimate test of endurance, the yo-yo test.
With COVID-19 training restrictions enforced, the players were divided into three groups to complete the gym work and the yo-yo test.
All-Australian ruck woman, Sharni Layton made a wonderful start to her pre-season having finished as one of the top three performers in the yo-yo.
Alongside her was cross-code draftee, Imogen Purcell who impressed in her first official session at the Holden Centre.
Rounding out the top three was second-year Magpie, Ebony O’Dea.
Several other players also showed some exciting signs of what’s to come this pre-season.
Mikala Cann continued to prove her consistent hard-running abilities having finished in the top range of players in the yo-yo.
In their third and fifth pre-seasons retrospectively, Jordyn Allen and Brianna Davey showcased their athletic talents with both finishing well in each of their groups.
