A nifty half forward with a great hands and goal sense, Crocker displayed all these attributes and more during his brief foray at AFL level in 2016. He played 10 senior games, twice kicking three goals and adding a new dimension to a forward line that was undergoing regeneration. His older brother, Sam, was once on St Kilda's list, while he hails from the same Oakleigh Chargers team that once featured Jordan De Goey and Darcy Moore. The Collingwood connection continues well beyond his Oakleigh days, for he grew up a passionate Magpie fan and lived next door to former captain Scott Burns.
The last man added to Collingwood’s 2016 list ended his first year with 10 senior games to his name and the promise of many more to come. A string of impressive VFL performances saw Crocker elevated into the senior team for a debut against Carlton in round seven. He kicked three goals against Brisbane a week later and held his place until the mid-season break. More time in the VFL was to follow before he bounced back into the senior side for the final month, when he ended his year with three goals in a classic against Hawthorn in round 23. Crocker rounded out his first season in the big time with three goals in two VFL finals and will aim to build on his fine start to life in the big time in 2017.
Crocker’s leadership skills shone in 2015 as he captained the Oakleigh Chargers to a premiership, while also managing a vice-captaincy role for Vic Metro in the National Championships. Also a lively kick in front of goal, the 185cm forward kicked 22.17 in the home and away season for Oakleigh as he guided the side to a second-straight premiership. In total, Crocker played for four different sides in 2015. Adding to 14 games for the Chargers and five for Vic Metro was two appearances for Port Melbourne in the VFL and another two games for the AFL AIS Academy side.
