Collingwood will open the seventh AFLW season when the side play Carlton at IKON Park on Thursday 25 August.

In a historic year, 2022 will see its second ten-round AFLW campaign commence in August. Collingwood will host five games, four at its spiritual ground at Victoria Park and its first game at the AIA Centre when the Pies play Essendon in Round 5.

The side will travel interstate on two occasions in Round 8 when the side play Fremantle and Round 10 against the Brisbane Lions.

The AFLW season seven will be the first campaign to include all 18 clubs, with the recent inclusion of Essendon, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide and Sydney.

Collingwood Head of Women’s Football, Jess Burger, welcomed the seventh AFLW campaign.

“We welcome the fixture for season seven of the AFLW competition and look forward to opening the season against our rivals at IKON Park – the same match-up and venue of the inaugural AFLW match in 2017,” Burger said.

“It has been a strong start to our pre-season where we have managed to retain a great list and add some exciting talent in the recent AFLW draft.

“We look forward to welcoming four new sides to complete the competition reflecting the brilliant growth of the women’s game on and off the field.

“We thank our dedicated members and supporters for their ongoing commitment to our women’s program and look forward to seeing them at the season opener in August.”
