Collingwood is pleased to announce the signings of former Super Netball players Olivia Lewis and Maisie Nankivell to the Club’s AFLW side.

The two cross-coder athletes have signed fresh two-year rookie deals that will see them in the black and white stripes until at least the end of 2027.

Beginning her netball career with the West Coast Fever, Lewis made her debut in Round 1 of the 2019 Super Netball season, impressively earning the club’s Coaches Award.

The 184cm goalkeeper went on to play 27 games with the side before signing with the Melbourne Vixens in 2022, where she reached her 50th national league match the following year.

In 2024 the Western Australian product signed on as an inaugural player for the Melbourne Mavericks and was named the club’s Defender of the Year before announcing her netball retirement.

In South Australia, Nankivell also started her netball career in 2019 as a training partner with the Adelaide Thunderbirds, making her debut that same year.

2020 was a breakout year for the 176cm emerging talent, capping off the season as the Super Netball Rising Star and earning herself the Young Player of the Year Award at the Australian Netball Awards.

The then 21-year-old was also crowned dual club Champion for the Thunderbirds after being featured in all 14 games, highlighting her versatility in the centre, wing defence and wing attack positions.

The South Australian product joined the Thunderbirds’ leadership group in 2021 and was pivotal to their 2023 premiership success.

After playing 56 games for the Thunderbirds, she joined the inaugural Melbourne Mavericks team in 2024, before making the decision to step away from netball this year.

Nankivell will make her AFLW return after joining the Adelaide Crows as a rookie in 2019 where she played two games for the side before deciding to pursue netball full-time.

Collingwood’s Executive General Manager of Women’s Football Jess Burger is excited to welcome the duo to the KGM Centre in 2026.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Olivia and Maisie to our AFLW program,” Burger said.

“Olivia brings disciplined defence, height and athleticism for key roles, while Maisie adds AFLW experience, work ethic and sharp game sense.

“Together, they bring a wealth of elite sporting experience from their highly respected netball careers and will bring a competitive edge and team-first mentality that will support their transition.

“For Maisie, this is an exciting return to AFLW, and for Olivia, it’s a new chapter in an already decorated sporting career.

“The exciting duo are looking forward to run out as teammates again as we prepare for the 2026 season.”
