Chances are if you follow all the Collingwood news on social media, you know of fan account #PiesNation. Run by 18-year-old Luke, the profile has a strong following on both Twitter and Instagram, with a total following of over 35,000 people.

As part of the lead-in to Collingwood’s ‘Social Sunday’ clash with St Kilda this weekend, the Collingwood Media team invited Luke to the Holden Centre to take over the club’s Twitter account.

“It’s a dream of mine to tweet for Collingwood,” Luke said as he observed training from the Glasshouse balcony.

“I’m pretty good with my tweeting I think, so I just wanted to go with the flow and enjoy the experience. Today was pretty exciting for me and I’m very thankful for the opportunity to do it.”

Luke started his #PiesNation account while supporting the Magpies from afar in Sydney. He moved to Melbourne with his family and has since seen his following skyrocket.

Adam Treloar is one that likes a lot of my posts,” Luke said.

“It’s really good checking the likes and seeing all the boys playing now who are following and liking all my posts even if they’re not tagged in them.”

Behind the official @collingwoodfc account during Thursday’s main training session, Luke offered valuable insights on the action for those following at home.
