As Collingwood members, I’d like to invite you to an exclusive post-season information night at the Westpac Centre.

This member only briefing will offer a thorough review of season 2014 and an outline of our plans for 2015.

It will be held shortly after our last match of the year.

I will be in attendance, as will chief executive Gary Pert, director of football Rodney Eade, senior coach Nathan Buckley and others.

Our focus is still very much on keeping our hope of a ninth consecutive finals campaign alive. We have an injury ravaged list and for the moment we need to put all of our energy into fighting to the end and doing the black and white proud.

But we are already examining what has gone wrong and right in 2014 and when the season is done we will be sharing the outcomes with you.

It won’t just be on-field, either. The whole match day experience is being looked into. We have long lobbied the AFL to stamp Collingwood on our home games and in recent times it has appeared that our pleas have been heard.

This meeting is not about internet-style carping but a coming together of the Collingwood clan to refocus in a time of rapid change in the AFL.

There are many things that give us both unique opportunities and challenges and now is the time to stand side by side and take a thorough, analytical approach to building on the best foundations in the AFL.

We have deliberately set this meeting for as soon as our season finishes, because as soon as it does the next campaign will begin, so bring your best ideas for the future.

Our recent form has been modest and last Saturday night was bitterly disappointing, although we all know there were some extraordinary reasons for what transpired. Nonetheless, we’ve got to charge at 2015 from the moment season 2014 finishes.

Further information on the briefing will be communicated to you once the season has drawn to a close.

For those who cannot attend, highlights of the evening will be online at collingwoodfc.com.au the following day. For those who can, register your interest by clicking this link.
